Features of the Ergo Baby Carrier

The Ergo is a very popular lightweight, compact carrier for front, hip, or back carrying, suitable for babies from around 3 months until around 3 years (or from birth with the Infant Insert). This fantastic carrier has now been improved in response to customer feedback and is better than ever - loads more comfortable than any you'll find on the high street, and it looks great too.

The well-padded waistband and rucksack-style straps distribute the weight of your child evenly and comfortably. The ergonomic design supports your child in the 'spread squat'; the optimal position for healthy development of the hips, pelvis, and spine. For more information about the Spread Squat Position please click here.

The new design includes the following improvements:

  • The sleeping hood is now shaped to fit the contours of your baby's head, with an inbuilt extension to fit older children, it now fastens directly onto the shoulder straps, and has elastic making it easier to pull up when baby is on your back.
  • The body of the carrier is lightly padded with cotton batting for extra comfort, and the lining of the carrier is 100% cotton poplin.
  • The body of the carrier is now shaped with darts to accentuate the pouch for your baby to sit in, making it easier to position your baby correctly for a comfier carry.
  • The waist belt and shoulder straps adjust to fit a wider range of sizes and the shoulder straps are now curved to fit your shoulders for extra comfort and stability.
  • The shoulder straps have side release buckles which means a hip carrying position is possible.
  • The chest straps are now permanently attached to the shoudler straps with a runner, keeping the strap in its desired location so it does not need adjusting each time.  The straps and runner are dyed to the colour of the carrier, enhancing the overall look.
  • There is a pocket on the main body of the carrier with zipper access from the side - big enough for purse, keys etc.
