Cloth NappiesIf you're looking for more information about the environmental impact of disposable nappies, the Women's Environmental Network is a great place to start. The WEN campaign heavily in favour of cloth nappies, and organise the annual Real Nappy Week (20-26 June 2005).
This article from The Ecologist is a couple of years old, but still very relevant and interesting. It helps explain that most of the negative ideas held about cloth nappies have come directly from manufacturers of disposables.

The Baby Wearer is a really useful site for help in choosing the right baby carrier, its has hundreds of product reviews and details of where to buy. It also has interesting articles about the benefits of baby wearing.
The sites listed under Attachment Parenting also have good information about the benefits of carrying your baby.
Breastfeeding
I Want My Mum is a wonderful new forum site which is very pro-breastfeeding, and has lots of really useful research based information about breastfeeding and many other topics. Breastfeeding counsellors, midwives, bereavement counsellors, and health visitors are online to help answer any questions.
KellyMom.com is an American site which is very informative about anything to do with lactation and breastfeeding. It's been very useful to me in the middle of the night on a number of occasions when my daughter was tiny. It also has a list of useful books, and those to avoid!
The La Leche League is an international organisation promoting breastfeeding, it's website allows you to search for a local breastfeeding support group and it also have a very good helpline (UK Tel: 0845 120 2918) www.breastfeeding.co.uk is run by a breastfeeding counsellor and has useful articles and information. It is also possible to email your questions and have them answered by a qualified breastfeeding counsellor.
General Parenting Advice, Information, or Support
The National Childbirth Trust is well known for promoting natural child birth and breastfeeding. Their web site also has good commonsense information about all aspects of baby care, a directory of local post-natal groups, and lists lots of sources of support for new mothers. I Want My Mum is a wonderful new forum site where you can chat with like-minded parents about all aspects of your baby and toddler. The site contains lots of really useful research based information about breastfeeding and many other topics.
Mumszone Link Directory Dr Sears is a leading US paediatrician and promoter of Attachment Parenting - a parenting style which involves nurturing and responding to children in an instinctive way. His web site is really useful and has lots of thought-provoking articles which will help you find your own way of nurturing your baby.
The Natural Child Project is a really thought-provoking web site. "Our vision is a world in which all children are treated with dignity, respect, understanding, and compassion. In such a world, every child can grow into adulthood with a generous capacity for love and trust. Our society has no more urgent task."
